THE FIELDS WE USED TO LAY IN
Basketry goes back ages. Allready in the prehistoric time, man had some kind of basket to gather and store things.
My research went back to the basics of humanity. Since the Fall, we have a shame above us and the need to wear something to cover our bodies.
Hamanity has created sever methods of cleaning and drying these cloths. Every culture does it in its own way. An old Dutch tradition of spreading white sheets on grassfields to bleech and dry them, forms the base of the project. In the green grass is a active chemical present which bleeching te cloths while revealed to the sunlight.
This basketry based project was inspired on the ways we dried our cloths in ancient times and reinterpret this in conceptual drying carpets for the home.
